My new account and shady buyer
Hi this is a new account with no feedback yet and only 20 listed items. My most expensive item has been sold and the buyer hasn't yet paid . It's not quite 24 hrs. Knowing the scams out there I looked up buyer and all their feedback was from over a year ago. They have some negativity on their feedback as not paying. I've reached out to buyer no response yet. I do not want to sell to this person as there are too many shady remarks. I had many watchers on this item and don't want to wait 4 days to cancel order. Any suggestions?

·2 years agoHi @retro_licious Hang in there, you'll have to wait the 4 days before cancelling for unpaid item. If you cancel before that, you'll receive a transaction defect against your seller performance. Since you only have one transaction, that will severely affect you.
Here's a direct link to info about cancellation defects. My advice is to also click through and read all the information about seller performance standards:
https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/selling-policies/seller-performance-policy?id=4347#defects
Edit all your current listings to require Immediate Payment:
https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/listings/creating-managing-listings/immediate-payment-works?id=4151
To cancel for unpaid item:

Also, I recommend that you buy some items so that you have more feedback. It helps sellers if they also understand the buying process (unless you've got buying experience on another account). Some buyers will be leery of buying from someone with 0 feedback. And getting more feedback on your record will make you less attractive to unsavory buyers.
