My money stolen by a seller who sent me an amazon return label
I've been defrauded by an ebay seller and ebay's AI can't understand the scheme, and thus, I can't get my money back. I bought an item from a seller, and when it didn't match the description, I asked for a return label. The seller sent me an amazon label, and because I'm not savvy to scams, I used it. I pointed it out to the seller that I found it strange. I then provided him with the UPS tracking number and he said he'd put the refund through. It's been 11 days and it's never been put through. He then uploaded a new, non-amazon label that indicated I hadn't returned the item yet. So ebay AI sees the new label, as if I haven't returned the item. The scam is that he not only marked up the item by nearly 100%, he will be getting a refund on my money from amazon, plus scamming me out of the money I paid him. I'm not here to police ebay sellers. I just want my money back. The item is snaking its way to an amazon warehouse (it's been 11 days), and I do have the UPS tracking number plus the original amazon label, but I can't get a human being who understands the scam. I spoke to someone on an offshore customer service line, and they don't get it. Any ideas on how to get a U.S. human at ebay to help? I've reported the store and the item, and I got AI back saying the item is fine and I have no case. I of course opened a dispute with my credit card company, and that's to be determined on how they rule, but shouldn't ebay do something about this?

Mentor5 months ago@saywhatt99 I am so sorry that happened. Sellers are not supposed to drop ship from Amazon but it does unfortunately still happen.
Please use this form to report the seller for suspicious activity> https://www.ebay.com/help/action?topicid=4022 Select Suspicious seller activity> other
Then say in the box that the seller violated eBay Policy by Drop shipping from Amazon.
The seller also defrauded you by sending an Amazon return label and not the eBay return label. The seller is not issuing a refund. ( don't go into more detail as AI reads these on the first go around)
Next I strongly recommend contacting customer service on Social Media as the best option for assistance>
Contact customer service by sending a PRIVATE message on social media. Customer service verifies your identity before responding.

Explain to the agent that the seller Drop Shipped from Amazon and had you return the item directly to Amazon which means the SELLER received the refund.

OP5 months agoThanks so much for your reply. I did all of the reporting links previously, but the resolution was from a link I saw on one of the social media accounts, so thanks for that tip. It got me to an actual human who understood the scheme. She said she is refunding my money. People complain about amazon and Bezos, but in all the years I've used amazon, they have been incredibly helpful in resolving even the slightest problem in real time. With eBay, it's taken numerous written complaints over 10 days with zero responses, and a previous phone call with customer service that went nowhere. When everything goes well on eBay, great, but when it doesn't, it reminds you how incredibly customer focused amazon is.
