My listing was removed for vero software licensing policy...?
I listed an Anbernic RG353V. You may be wondering well what is that. Its pretty much like a game boy but you can play N64, PS2, SNES and other retro games on it. Anyways, there was some interest in it as it had around 25 watchers in the first day. Fast Forward 2 days and I receive an email from ebay that says
- Your listing was reported by ESA - Entertainment Software Association for violating their software licensing rights. eBay’s Verified Rights Owner (VeRO) program offers intellectual property rights owner(s) a way to report listings that they believe infringe on their rights
- Some software companies have specific licensing agreements that restrict the resale of their software, keys, accounts, or virtual items associated with the same. If you don't have permission to resell their software, keys, accounts, or virtual items on eBay, you may be violating this agreement
What I dont understand is that if I type in Anbernic RG353V there are listings with current bids on them as well as completed sales so mine was removed because..?

Mentor2 years agoEmulation software itself is legal, but game emulation is legal only if you physically purchased the game legally and ripped the content. Freely downloading or uploading game ROMs on various Internet sites is considered copyright infringement and users may be sued for copyright infringement.

OP2 years agoThx for the reply, I forgot to mention I had games preloaded on there like chrono trigger and zelda and stated that in the listing where as other listing its just the system itself, could that be it? delete the games i have downloaded

Mentor2 years agoThat's it, but now you are on ebay's radar so be careful. I'd create a brand new listing for the device only, with no mention of any games.

Mentor2 years ago@navybrat089 Yours was removed because the rights owner asked eBay and they have to comply. The other listings just might not have been caught YET.
