My Item will cost much more to ship than the listed cost of sale
I went to ship my Item but was told it was too big and would cost a lot more than the price of shipping associated wth my Item

OP1 year agoThank you for your response. As badly as I feel about this, I do not have the expertise to even properly box this item, and I tried today. I honestly tried. If there is any money that somehow gets to me, I'll return it, but that Frankenstein of 2 large boxes is not something mailable. I did not measure it or weigh it. I tried to list it as pickup only, but never saw the option to select that and failed to de-list it. All other items are for pickup local only. I feel bad because it's a good item, and the buyer is willing to pay any additional shipping, but those merged boxes are not realistically mailable.

You are required to ship a sold item to the buyer.
If you underestimated the cost of shipping the item, you will have to make up the difference yourself.
Did you weigh and measure the prepackaged item before you listed the item for sale in order to make sure you charged the proper shipping charges?

OP1 year agoThankfully I have no money deposited and I have learned a valuable lesson with using EBay. In the future, I'll preweigh, measure, and box before ever listing a shippable Item. If there is some charge because of all this I wont even be mad about it. I should have de-listed it when I could not find an option to make it local pickup only. I didn't, or forgot to, but either way a potential need went unmet because the price was very reasonable so I feel badly for someone who could really use it. I was willing to eat the entire cost, but that box would get laughed out the mailroom. it looks like Charlie brown boxed it up.
