I can't change my email address. It says my new address is already in use. Everyone else is fine with my new address!! However I am receiving my emails at my old server on my old address. There chat is useless.

Every ebay account must have a unique email address. Is it possible you somehow signed up for another account (using Google for example) or as a guest and used the email address you want to change to?

Each eBay account needs a unique email address. If your email address is already linked to a different eBay account, you will need to use a different email address for this account.

Some email providers allow multiple unique addresses to point to the same email inbox:
