Multiple packages bought
Question
I posted an item that was 10 pounds and the box measured 12x12x12
i sold 10 to 1 customer
ebay took the item weight x 10 = 100 pounds but did not change the box size
so, customer paid shipping for 100 pounds at 12x12x12
instead of 10 boxes each being 10 pounds and each box 12x12x12
shipping cost were off by $50
Did I miss something or what

Mentor3 years agoSorry, you can't ask buyer for more shipping for your error.
Appears your combined shipping preferences were set to "add weights', this unfortunately does not adjust for dimensions or multiple boxes. You need to set your combined shipping preferences to "no discount" and/or the shipping cost for additional items on the listing to cover this.

It would seem from the information you've given us that you did not set up a combined shipping rule properly. All you can try and do is to find large enough boxes to handle all of the items and unpack them from the 12x12x12 packages they came in, and repack them in the larger ones, then see what the shipping rates are. You may be able to lower the shipping cost by doing that.
You can also try contacting your buyer and ask them to cancel the order so you can re-post it as a lot of 10 of the items with the proper shipping cost, specifically for them.
