Move e-mail address to another account.
I have a long-standing Ebay account with a doomed e-mail address and a second account that had the e-mail address that I want to use on the long-standing account. I took the desired address of the second account, but Ebay did not let me apply it to the long-standing account. What do I need to do to free the e-mail address?

OP3 years agoAfter replacing the e-mail address on the secondary account, I tried to use the address on my long-standing account and could not, so yesterday I closed the secondary account, but I still am not allowed to use e-mail address that was formally on the closed account. -Keith

Mentor3 years agoFrom eBay help:
Generally, it takes 14 days to close an account from the date we receive a request, though it may take up to 60 days if you've had any transactions, payments, claims or disputes in the previous 30 days.

Mentor3 years agoAn email address can only be used on one account. So change the email address on the second account to one you aren't using on eBay (if you don't have a third address, then you'll need to sign up for one) and then use the desired email (the one you removed from your secondary account) on your long-standing account.

OP3 years agoVisionary, Thank You. I changed the log-in e-mail to another e-mail address, but that did not free the e-mail address to be used in the other account. Is there another place to release the e-mail address other than the log-in?
