Hello!
I purchased some refrigerator water filters from eBay. After not receiving a confirmation email or anything after the purchase and it taking longer to receive the items than originally expected, I contacted my credit card company thinking I had been scammed. They credited me the $31.12 from original purchase. However, just yesterday, I received a confirmation email and then the package showed up today. I’m a very honest person and would like to make sure the seller gets paid. What is the best way to go about this. I think I either need to contact my credit card company and have them reissue the payment, or contact the seller and pay it by phone. As it stands, I got 4 filters free and that is not how I operate. I want to get the seller paid.

If there is a name and address on the shipping label you can send them a check with a nice note. You can message them and ask if they want to take payment via some kind of electronic method, PayPal or other.

All they need to do is contact their credit card and reverse the payment back to the seller.

Mentor1 year agoAlthough this may work if the seller is the actual one running the credit card in this case it is eBay that handles the payment processing and they would probably not know what to do with the money as the purchase was closed once the refund was made to the buyer.

Mentor1 year agoThis has NOTHING to do with who is "running" processing the Chargeback. But for that it is always the Money Processor and never the seller.
The buyer [the OP] only needs to contact the financial institute that they filed the Chargeback with and won, to have them reverse it and give the funds back to the seller. Anyone that does a Chargeback has the ability to do this if the need arises.
