Money was returned to buyer but I never got my item back and eBay closed the request
I sold a $300 Nintendo DS that worked perfectly for me, and the user said after a week it started working bad so they wanted to return it. They said it was glitchy. I issued the return process and haven't heard back anything yet. I've contacted the buyer asking for a tracking number of the DS being sent back. No response. I've tried to figure out with eBay and they closed the case. They said acton was taken but they can't tell me what it was. They didn't give my money back to me, I haven't received the item. I don't know what else to do.

I hope you have an honest buyer.
Always get the item back and then refund the buyer. If you fought the return and eBay stepped in then they force a refund, you get a defect, you don't get your sellers fees back, buyer may be allowed to keep the item.
Once you issue a refund the buyer can NOT access the eBay return label and there is no motivation for the buyer to return the item.
You will not be charged for the eBay label that was issued in the return request since it won't be used.
You can send the buyer a return shipping label in eBay messages as a JPEG. Buy the label on Pirateship.com.
Pirateship charges the same commercial rate as eBay and they refund you for the label if it's not used within 30 days.
