money on hold due to customer open claim for return damaged item
I would like someone to please let me know if and when ebay puts your money on hold, do they take it from your balance? For instance, i had a return request through ebay and then ebay put my fund available funds for this item on hold. Now my question is do they actually remove that money from your available money and then put it back when you satisfied the request? Because I satisfied the request and my total amount of available money never changed. I would think after releasing the hold on the money I would get that back. Wondering if anyone has ever had a similar issue?

Refunds, even for order cancellations, come out of your available funds not pending or held. If you do not have available funds then eBay charges your back up payment method for selling costs.
Have you entered your backup payment method for selling costs here:
https://ppcapp.ebay.com/myppc/wallet/list Select Manage under the method you want to use then select Preferred for selling costs. I use a credit card.
Once you issue the refund and the buyers funds are released from being held or finish processing then the buyers payment is released to you.

As you read that page you will see that funds are held for various reasons and when transaction related there is no specific time frame spelled out as to when they will be released to you or refunded to the customer.
You can certainly make contact with eBay and here are some options for you since we do not have account access in this forum:
