Hi everyone,
I’ve encountered a challenging situation with a buyer on eBay, and I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences on dealing with similar issues. I sold an item that the buyer claimed was defective, although I’m sure it wasn’t. eBay stepped in and issued a label and refune. The label they provided had an old address for me, so the return has been delivered to the wrong address. When I first sold and shipped the item, it was paid for and sent from my correct current address, my account doesnt have a return address listed at all, and my 'ship to' address is also listed as my current correct address.
I dont know why or how they managed to issue an old address but since i didnt approve the return in the first place, i didnt provide the return label to see what address they gave.
Here are a few questions I’m pondering:
How do I get my money or item back?
How do i reach a human customer service agent directly to resolve this? I've tried for hours and have only found chat bots and automated call systems.
I’m eager to find out how to handle this situation and prevent similar issues in the future.

There are several they have to change. It is the seller's responsibility to have the correct address in place.
You cannot get your money back. The buyer shipped the return to the address provided and it was an address eBay had for you that at one point you added and approved.
Can you contact the residents of the address it was sent to and see if they will forward it to you? I'm not sure of any other way you can get it back from them as it was shipped and delivered properly.
