Missing item/empty mailer recieved.

Question

I have a buyer saying he received the packaging but not the contents! What do I do as the seller? I believe him but he could just as easily be pulling my leg?

If he files the "missing item" with ebay all it's going to do is have me provide shipping details (which shows the item is delivered) so i don't see how that will help?

If you believe him, refund, or ebay will do it for you if he open a return for missing parts.

You can also tell him to please double check the package that no one else opened it, but if missing in transit you will file a report with the postal inspectors and his local police department and would he please cooperate with the investigation.

The above often has the item appear, or the buyer stop communicating, if they are scamming you.

The buyer needs to open a return for an item that is not as described. (He received a package, but the contents did not match the description.) You can ask him to attach a photo to the return showing the sticker from the post office stating that the package was delivered empty (they don't always do this, but if he is pulling your leg, this may deter him).
