Misleading pricing on listings
Misleading prices on listings…..how is this allowed?! For example, looking for trainers, sort by lowest price - loads of options for multi-item listings that say £3.49-£11.99 BUT all you can get for the lowest price is an empty shoe box and all of the trainers are priced at £11.99.
This is manipulation of listings yet when I’ve reported it; a robot says that the listing is fine?!

Mentor1 month agoOne workaround to avoid this problem is to search using a price range to limit your results to a reasonable number, then sort by "Price plus shipping: highest first", go to the last page of the results if there is more than one page, jump to the bottom and scroll up instead of down.
This forces eBay to sort the results by the highest-priced variation in your price range, which is one way to get all the listings that include an unrelated low-priced variation to sort properly.

Mentor1 month agoThe listing is a variation listing so it does allow for variations of the item. So when the AI looks at the listing all it sees is that there are variations shown in the listings but not exactly what the variations are. So as far as the AI is concerned the listing is valid. eBay is not going to look further into the listing since it passed the AI.

Mentor1 month agoWhen a listing is using the Variations feature, all of the items are suppose to be similar, but some sellers have found a way to get around that, and when they do, ebay shows the lowest price item that the seller submitted.
