Misleading listing photos do not match description wording & do not match delivered item
What does the community think about an auction wherein the photos do not match the worded description. And the delivered item is not the one shown in the auction photos.
I contacted the seller and their response was ...
I listed a few dozen similar items that day and yours was one of them. Yes, I see now that I confused the pictures and that wasn't my intent but the item I sent to you is from the same set of item sources I parted out. Yours was initially going to be thrown away but I decided to list it so someone could buy it cheap and repair it. These are the pictures that were for your listing. Please accept my sincere apology. <end>
Note that the pictures sent are not of the specific item shipped.
How should i respond to the seller?

If I saw an auction listing where the photo did not match the description, I would not bid unless the discrepancy was explained to my satisfaction by the seller.

If a buyer receives an item that does not match the photos (or the description, or both), then the buyer has thirty days to file a "not as described" return with eBay. The seller will then be required to provide for tracked return shipping and refund the buyer upon tracking showing the return has been delivered. If the seller does not cooperate, after three business days the buyer can ask eBay to step in and force a refund.
