minor sold an item and now the account is restricted and money is on hold
How can i get my son's money to him? He is under age and did not realize he was not permitted to sell anything on ebay. he sold an item and now went to get his money and his account is restricted. ebay seems to be difficult to communicate with and i am not sure how to get his money and close his account. obviously he will not sell anything until he turns 18.
Thank you very much for any guidance.

I am sorry to say but this is going to be a lesson in following rules. He had to lie about his age to open the account.
He will have to wait until the payment is sent to your state as unclaimed funds. This can take up to 5 years and varies by state.

OP4 months agoI hope that is not true, but i appreciate the response. I was just told that the money will automatically be deposited after the hold of 60 days is up. it $500 so not life changing but certainly means a lot to a 16 year old. I agree there is a good lesson in life here and not to lie about your age...

Mentor4 months ago@tonylarsen2 Did he provided his SS# also? That is required for all sellers. The registration name and address must match the checking account and government ID exactly. This is why I doubt that the payout will be coming from eBay. This has come up a few times with other under age sellers.
