By the time you met up, you should have had the buyer's phone number in your contacts. I would have at least tested that assertion by calling it. The QR code is your proof of delivery. I smell a rat, but there's a chance that that might be attributed to the excess of cynicism which is my nature. I hope this has a happy ending for you . . . good luck.

If you had Local Pickup in that listing and that's what the Buyer chose at checkout, eBay would have sent him two codes.
One code would be the QR code on his phone. The other would be a six-digit code in his email. That code can be entered manually into the transaction to prove Pickup. The manual code may be in his personal email connected to his eBay account.
