Messaging restrictions
Why is it that eBay restricts people to five messages per day, this is the time of year when everybody is Christmas shopping and quite frankly limiting peoples ability to message sellers will hinder sales across-the-board tremendously!
I’m just having a hard time understanding why eBay would cut their own throat sort of speak.

Mentor2 years agoebay limits the number of messages you can send for new members. They do this in order to stop members from spamming other members. Read the description closely and look at all the photos in order to reduce the number of messages being sent.

OP2 years agoI have looked through eBay’s policy up and down several times and cannot find anything on messaging restrictions.

Ebay only allows sellers to send a certain amount of emails to member they don't have a current transaction with in a certain period of time. This rule is to help stop spamming. I don't know if there is a written policy on this or how many messages can be sent in a 24 hour period, but there are such limits.
Suffice it to say, that for your account the number is 5 per day ... as you buy things and process successful transaction without issues the limits will increase.

I will be honest, I was not aware of a daily message restriction from eBay and I am pretty sure that I have sent and received well over that occasionally. Were you sending them to the same seller and not part of a transaction, meaning you were just asking questions?

OP2 years agoI was sending messages to different vendors in regard to items that I was bidding on!

Mentor2 years ago@dr.vankmann5 Well, apparently as @disneyshopper mentioned new or newer accounts have message limits for the site to avoid spamming. The sad part of course is people like you with honest intentions suffer the consequences of those who abuse the system. Really sorry about that.
