Messages from members

Question

I am new to EBay and Iâ€™m getting messages in my inbox from what appears to be a member yet they are signing off as eBay Security team. Message tells me to go to a link to verify my information so my account wonâ€™t be restricted. I am pretty sure this is a scam. Is there a way to report this? Does this happen a lot on eBay ?

Yes, those are scams.

If eBay sends you a message, it will be addressed to you by full name, and will not come from a random username with a number in it; it will come from eBay and will appear in your messages under "From eBay". eBay will never ask you to copy and paste something into your browser address bar -- that is something scammers often do, though.

There should be a "report message" link in the upper right using the three-dot menu when viewing a message from a member in your eBay message inbox.
