Mercedes Vintage Box of Small Plastic Cars (w/Yellow Bus, Blue/Red Tractor Trailer, Red Fire Truck)
I have an old 9' square box of Mercedes plastic cars and trucks. The 6 smaller cars are missing but the rest is intact. A blue van, red fire truck, small blue open bed truck, red & blue tractor trailer, a larger open bed truck and a large yellow bus. The box is old but there are no markings other than Mercedes Benz. No date, nothing. Anybody know anything about this set???

·3 years agoI would have to guess that this was some sort of promotion offered to dealerships. The commercial vehicles are not common in the US. Notice that the snubnose on some models, indicating vehicles later in 20th century. The detail is minimal , so maybe intended for children. Perhaps you can find markings on the molds to indicate year of production. Also, do you have a scale, so that you can search similar scale models? It seems close to 1:87 scale, but not quite.
You might look on the German site https://eBay.de for similar items or ask on the selling forum or the toys forum:

OP3 years agoThank you Shipscript!! That was very helpful. I was able to find several of them on the German site and subsequently on our eBay! They are Wiking models and they often come in sets such as the one I have and they are from the 1959 - 1961 range. You're the best!
