Maximum number of shipping labels per sales with multiple items
Summary: uhnnee_co expressed frustration with eBay's policy that limits printing shipping labels to five per transaction, despite selling six items. They described a long and unhelpful conversation with customer service and questioned the logic behind the policy. disneyshopper suggested alternative solutions, such as using USPS Click N Ship or pirateship.com for additional labels and mentioned a feedback option on eBay's platform.
I recently sold 6 boxes of items on ebay. They are big, and as soon as I combine multiple of the box into one, the shipping rate goes insane as they are going to be under oversized item.
In the same transaction, I sold 6 items, but ebay doesn't allow me to print more than 5 from the sales, which is very frustrating. I was complaining to 2 ebay customer representatives over the phone after 1.5 hour hold, and the only answer I got from them was they can't help anything about it. They don't understand why the policy is like that, but there is no way they can overwrite the number of maximum shipping labels I can create. I think that's absolute nonsesne.
Ebay allows mutiple item sales in a sales lot, and now they don't allow printing more than 5 label. Ebay encourages sellers to offer discount on multiple itme sales, but they don't allow sellers to print multiple labels beyond 5.
From IT stand point, allowing multiple number of labels printed based on the number items sold in one sale transaction is just too easy. it is not requiring platform changes or anything. You can just match the number of labels to nunmber of items sold. I have read multiple complaints about this from the sell in this board, but nothing have been changed.
I paid over $160 for my sales in this particular case, but I feel like they are treating their biggest customer, the sellers in the way that they already got paid, and you figure out your issue on your own.
I don't think my complaint is illogical or unreasonable. But I really don't understand why eBay is not changing a simple thing that makes a lot more sense for their customer.
Is there any channel that I can submit my feedback so that they listen?
I'm very much frustrated. eBay is almost like monopolizing this type of market, and this is the result of it. I'm seriously thinking of changing my sales platform into something else if this is not resolved anytime soon.

Mentor1 month agoThe 5 label limit has been with us for a very long time. Use a free PirateShip account to ship the extra box at the same discount, as USPS Click-n-Ship will be more expensive.
Best is to link a free PirateShip account to your ebay account to start with for just this type of thing. That way all six or more tracking numbers will be automatically uploaded to the Order Details on ebay.

Mentor1 month agoWhat most sellers do when they run across this situation is to either figure how to arrange all the items so they can ship in 5 packages, and if that is not possible, then print out the 5 shipping labels, and then go to USPS and use their Click N Ship to print the 6th label, or go to pirateship.com to print that additional label.
In the printing label flow, there should be a link to Tell Us What You Think that can be used to request that ebay increase the number of labels that can be printed for one transaction.
