Why are sellers allowed to mark an item shipped when it it isn't actually shipped for up to 6 days. A tracking number is useless and often erroneous until the shipper has the item in their possession ?

Mentor3 years agoWhen the seller prints the label, ebay sends a message that the item has shipped. Sellers specify a ship date, which cannot be more than 3 days in the future, otherwise USPS considers the label stale dated and can refuse the package.
Sellers have been asking that ebay change the wording of that message so that the buyer knows that the label has been printed and will soon be delivered to the carrier. We have been asking for years, and ebay hasn't done it. That is why I do not print shipping labels until the day I plan to ship.

OP3 years agoThank you for the explanation. I too feel it is deceiving. I try to be polite when asking when it will be actually shipped.
