Dear Mentors,
I've recently encountered a situation where abusive bidding and non-payment have surged, with over 40 cases in the last month alone. This not only affects the community's trust but also causes financial and logistical issues for sellers. I'm eager to hear your thoughts on effective strategies to manage and mitigate these challenges. How do you deal with such situations in your experiences? Are there specific practices or policies that have worked well for you or your organization? Additionally, what preventative measures could be implemented to reduce the occurrence of such cases? Looking forward to your insights and advice.
Thank you!

Mentor3 weeks agoYou can opt into requiring auto-pay, so when a buyer places a bid or makes an offer, s/he has to specify a payment method that will be used if s/he wins the auction or the Best Offer is accepted.

OP3 weeks ago · EditedHAVE A PROBLEM WITH a buyer, he twice bid on items and never responded or paid. Looked at his feedback he has over 40 Pos/really neg comments of not paying yet he still has 100% feedback, your system is broke not being able to leave negative feedback. Ebay should give sellers right to leave negative or at least neutral and monitor abusive non-payment

Mentor3 weeks agoSellers have been prohibited from leaving negative feedback for buyers since 2008. It is against Ebay feedback policy to leave negative comments within a positive feedback.
When a buyer does not pay, cancel the transaction after 4 days of non-payment have passed, specify "buyer didn't pay".
In Seller Hub, go to Orders.
Find the order you want to cancel, and from More actions, select Cancel order.
Select "buyer didn't pay" as the reason for the cancellation and then select Submit to finish.

All unpaid items are recorded on a buyer's account. Buyers who have excessive unpaid items, or canceled transactions, may have limits imposed, or lose their buying privileges.
Place the non-paying buyer on your Blocked Buyer List:
https://www.ebay.com/bmgt/BuyerBlock?
Set your buyer requirements to block buyers who caused cancellations of 2 unpaid purchases within 12 month(s).

It's still against the rules for these community forums to "name and shame" another user.
