Managing a return as a seller.
Hi. I am a new seller and I offer free 30 day returns. A buyer recently initiated a return for a hat that i sold them (reason: "too small. And hat seems misshapen on one side"). Ebay approved the return and had the buyer ship the hat back to me which I received today. When I go in to refund the buyer, I am refunding the cost of the hat, but there is a button to toggle to also refund the shipping cost at time of initial purchase ... I should toggle that on, right?
But how was shipping covered to return the hat to me as I have not actively paid anything yet? Is that automatically deducted somehow...I don't see it. Do I contact the buyer? I'm confused.

Mentor1 year agoSince you said Free Return Shipping the buyer was sent a prepaid label to use that you are funding. The return shipping label will be charged to your backup payment method.
