making offers

Question

This has happened repeatedly! I make an offer or two to interested buyers on my " Make Offers" list, which eBay is presenting me with, and then the system does not let me make anymore! Does this sound familiar?

Trying to contact eBay for help is impossible... any suggestions, theories or help is much appreciated!

1) eBay decides when you can send an offer and to whom. It will be to buyers:

- with the item in their cart, or

- on their watch list, or

- occasionally, it is people who have looked at the item often (called "heavy browse")

2) You can only send 1 offer to each watcher/interested party after that, you need to wait until a different person expresses interest, and then you will be allowed to send another offer.

- Each watcher will only get 1 offer from you, no matter how long they stay as a watcher.

- If the buyer has gotten too many other offers from other sellers on other items, eBay will wait a few days before allowing them to get more offers.

- A buyer can "opt-out" of offers, and then you can't send them at all.

When you have items eligible for an Offer to Buyers:

- You can use the "Send Offer Eligible" button on this page. When available, it will be on the top, near the Dark Blue "All"

TIP: If you want buyers to be notified of the lower price, you can either

- lower the price, or

- run a mark-down sale (requires a store subscription)

Buyers will get notified anytime you lower the price by 5%

If the same person is watching several of your items, they may only get a few offers before eBay decides that is enough for now.

I have noticed that when I send a best offer on a specific item, even though I get more watchers, I have to wait 4 days to send another offer on that item.

Because we can't see who the watchers are, there is some mystery to the process.
I start with the most important items I want to send offers on.
