MAKING MULTIPLE BIDS AND STANDARDIZING THE PROCESS TO DESCRIBE LIKE PRODUCTS
I am new to eBay so i am taking a chance and someone nervous about purchasing an unseen used product. What i do not understands your policy seems to convey that if a potential buyer makes an offer on a product, he/she must wait until the seller responds to the offer. That seem to preclude the same potential buyer from making offers on other products simultaneously because of fear they might be committed to purchasing multiple products. A fairer process might be to allow the potential buyer to make 3- 5 offers and accept the first offer that responds favorably. Right now, if I submit an offer, I must wait 24 hrs before I can make another offer while risk losing the opportunity to bid on another product. PLEASE COMMENT.
PLEASE create a standard way to describe like products. For example, I sought a laptop computer and the same model had different descriptions from each seller and did not include such key feature descriptors like backlit keyboard or touchscreen. I had to google the model and guess the configuration and blindly make an offer on the product. You should make every seller list the same details to make shopping comparison easier. PLEASE COMMENT. Sellers are responsible for their item descriptions, not eBay. eBay does provide some standardized ways to list items by model number, but it is up to sellers to either use those or not. Sellers that want their items to be seen by potential customers have an incentive to include the proper keywords and item-specifics so that their items can be found by those searching.
If you are looking for a laptop with a particular feature such as a touchscreen or a backlit keyboard, you should either seek out specific models that you know have those, or else include those keywords as search terms or filter options when searching, so that you can be sure that the results you compare have those specific features.

·2 years agoeBay needs to be fair to BOTH buyers and sellers. If you are too impatient to wait up to 24 hours to see if your offer is accepted then simply buy it at the Buy It Now price. Just because Best Offer is an option on a listing doesn't mean you have to use it. If you need the item NOW, don't use it.
Years ago eBay experimented with a process where an acceptance of an offer did not create a "transaction" and remove the item from inventory until the buyer actually paid. Both buyers and sellers complained so loudly (eBay used to listen) that they abruptly ended the experiment and didn't seem to even consider trying that again when they started requiring pre-authorization for payment on Best Offer a couple of years ago when again faced with too many buyers not paying for accepted offers.
