Making an offer
Why am I now required to open an account & provide my PayPal password on file in order to make an offer? This negates the security of using PayPal, as if ebay were to be hacked my PayPal account would be used for fraudulent purchases. I have always made immediate payment when an orrer or counter offer is agreed upon. I will not be making offers until this requirement is reversed which certainly means fewer purchases.

·3 years agoYou could instead put in credit card information (and my guess would be that eBay is sending you to PayPal to put in your PP account information like it does when you checkout). eBay requires some buyers to pre-authorize payment of Best Offers they make (unless the seller has opted out of the "experiment" which has been going an for a year and a half to attempt to reduce unpaid accepted offers) and you are one of the selected subjects, so you have to give your payment information (which you would have to do to pay for the item after acceptance anyway) in order to make such an offer.
