Making an offer
How does someone get to make an offer and get 5 days to pay? I realize the item is still available for others to buy . Why can they tie it up? This enables them to bid on the same item with another seller. I thought once you put your offer in you had 24 hours to pay…this is crazy

The item is not tied up, it remains available for someone else to purchase at list price.
Is your list price the price you actually want for the item??? You may be better off not using Best offer and just price your items at the lowest price you will sell for and cover your Cost, eBay fees and most importantly your profit.
Using Best offer can send the wrong message to Buyers ... meaning your price is not your price.
You can also consider turning Auto-pay ON, it can be found near the bottom of this page. Buyers would have to provide a payment method BEFORE they either send or accept an offer and will be changed in 1 hour. They can change their payment method in that hour but either way they will pay.
