Making an even exchange for an item--buyer wants a different size
I have a no-return policy. The item that was purchased by the buyer is a vintage shoe that was smaller than she wanted, even though I had the size noted in the listing. The buyer messaged me thru ebay that she would like to make an even exchange with another similar shoe that I have listed. I sent her detailed measurements of the similar shoe to be sure it would be acceptable. The buyer wants the similar shoe and will pay the return shipping. The simplest way to handle this would be to ask her to return the original shoes (she offered to pay for shipping), and when I receive them, send the similar shoes to her, free of charge (I will pay the shipping).
Will eBay allow me to do this without opening an official return? I am making an exception to my no-return policy in accepting this return, and I want to make this easy for the buyer. I don't want any additional money from her, only the original shoes shipped to me. Please respond ASAP, as I can't find any answers to this kind of question.
Many thanks!
