Has anyone ever had a seller request that you pay with Apple gift cards and is it true that if you make a large purchase that you are given 5 days to examine the product and then contact ebay to let them know that you either accept the merchandise or reject the merchandise before paying the seller

You are dealing with a criminal. That's not how eBay works.

If you don't buy the item through the item listing on eBay and pay through eBay checkout, the transaction has nothing to do with eBay. On eBay, you decide which of the payment options shown on the listing that you want to use - the seller cannot dictate that.

Report the listing to the site you found it on.
