"Make An Offer"
I made an offer with the official "make an offer" funtion of eBay. The seller regected my offer and made a counter-offer but, he did it through the "messaging" or "chat" function therfore, there was nothing for me review, acccept or decline. I understand that my original offer technically remained open because the seller chose not to use the official counteroffer function. That is exactly the problem, had the seller used the "make an offer" counter feature as designed, my offer would have been automatically rejected and I would have been released. Instead, the seller chose to counter through Messages, which deprived me of the system safeguard that exists to prevent this exact situation. I acted reasonably based on the seller’s communicated rejection and purchased another item. Does anyone think that the seller did not follow the proper procedures and if so, do I have any recourse and if so, I'm finding extremely difficulft to find out where to take my grievence...I would appreciate your input...thanks!

The offer is open until the seller closes it or it expires.
There is no grievance to file. That's how offers work.
