Hi everybody,
I just received an "oversized" raincoat from someone who is trying to scam me. The coat is way too small and I want to return it. The seller is trying to get me to keep it and give me back 20% of the listing price. I have no use for this and think it's outrageous that they would do this on eBay.
At any rate, I created a return for this and noted that the address they want me to send it to is in California, however, the address where it was shipped to me from is from Flushing, NY.
This is all very suspicious. Does anyone know how to deal with a situation like this?

Mentor3 years agoIt is not unusual for a seller to offer a partial refund to get you to keep an item you want to return.
A seller can provide a different address, especially when he is paying for the return shipping. If provided through the return, that is the address you need to send it to in order for eBay to help you get your refund. If the seller does not refund after 2 business days have passed after he receives it, go to your return and click ask us to step in.
If for some reason the package is not deliverable, contact customer service and they will probably issue the refund right away.
