Mailed out wrong item but have now mailed the correct - how to avoid the refund process

I mailed out the wrong item to a buyer. They are returning the item and I have mailed the correct item out to the buyer. How do I avoid issuing the refund when the returned item arrives? . Can't seem to find any answer in Ebay help or Ebay AI. Thanks.... blaine0121

@blaine0121 If the buyer opened a return request, please ask them to close the return as soon as the correct item arrives. That is the only way to stop that auto refund.
