Lower price after sale
I had an item listed for $150, and it sold. I found out there was a defect, and I thought I had updated the listing with the defect. But, I don't see it there. So I sent a message to the buyer, to tell about the defect. They wanted to still buy it, but for less. I asked them to make an offer, and they did, for $120, and I agreed.
Is there a way to change the price, lower, after the actual sale has been made? I originally thought I would cancel it, and then change the price, and then relist it, and then they would buy it again. But then I realized I would get dinged, (wouldn't I?) for cancelling a sale. So back to the question, Is there a way to change the price, lower, after the actual sale has been made? OR is there a way to refund some of the money after the sale? Or am I mistaken about getting dinged for canceling an order?

No, you cannot lower a price after a sale. You will have to ask the Buyer to ask you to cancel that transaction so you can Relist if for them to purchase at the lower price. Yes, it's a lot of extra steps but that is how eBay works.
