Lost Package
I’m a new EBay buyer, my reintroduction to EBay was more than less than positive. A simple mislabeling by the Seller, has caused frustration that I haven’t experienced in years. I bought product 1/17, got tracking information, with a clear delivery date, shipping managed by UPS. 1/22, UPS sends the delivery text ( I have Ring monitoring) I immediately go to pick it up, it’s not there. I reviewed ring again nothing on Video @ the deliver time of 10:58..took a snap shoot, I also took a snap of myself at the entrance @11:00. I followed that up with snap shoot of a UPS delivery being delivered on the same day just to show what that 10:58 snap should look like. Of course EBay and Seller are now aware of my lost package. Ebay and Buyers rely on the shipping agency to deliver and that is their security. However, It was my leg work to prove my innocence that discovered the seller gave me the correct tracking information for product and UPS the WRONG delivery address. UPS states the package was sign at the labeled address and they did their job and I will get not any further information. Days have passed since the seller was given all the information , by me of course to make contact with the UPS location that made the delivery. The buyer has already accused me of stealing and hasn’t done a thing, it’s all documented. Explain how EBay’s 3 day moratorium works 🤔when simple UPS mislabeling is the clear UPS verified issue…..HOW. Thanks if you listen, what’s next, still waiting.

I'm sorry that happened.
If you have opened an Item Not Received Case, wait the days and it will likely close in the Seller's favor.
This seller is using a scam tracking number scheme and I am sorry this happened to you. I assure you there are many many reputable sellers on eBay.
Here's what to do
1) First, call UPS to see if the tracking number label contained your name and your address. (they won't tell you the name and address on it, but they can confirm that your name ISN'T on it)
b) If your name and address weren't on that label, ask the UPS if they will put this in writing (it's helpful, but not required), but. Also, ask for the weight of the package using that tracking number. Follow the rest of the steps starting with 2 below:
FOR UPS:
You can usually find the weight and other details for UPS here:
https://www.ups.com/track?loc=en_US&requester=ST/
then click " Proof of Delivery"
The proof of delivery may have more details about the delivery site, and the weight. Screenshot that.
2) Then, report the seller using this process
https://www.ebay.com/help/action?topicid=4022
Important, select "Suspicious seller activity"
then "Other"
Explain that the seller is using fake USPS tracking numbers
Include these phrases
Don't write a novel, it's initially being read by a computer, that's why I want you to use those 3 specific phrases in the message.
3) Finally, contact Customer Service and inform them that the seller uploaded a "false tracking number" on your purchase. Share any documentation you gathered. Request a refund.
Use the Customer Service that is on social media this way:
Just sent a private message to the page. Explain you have a fake or false tracking number situation.
Let me know how this goes, I've been burned a few times myself (including on Amazon), but I have been able to get a refund following this process.
There are additional steps to take if the above isn't effective, just come back and update me.

OP8 months agoThank you very much.! ! Your information is critical for any new buyer with this issue. You have actually relived a bit of stress for me. Now, I actually have proof of a none existent delivery as well as nonexistent package signer: name WREN. I understand if you are selling it’s difficult to trust/believe buyers in these lost cases, but listening goes a long way. Again thank you very much!
