Lost mail item, refunded but now delivered
I need help with a transaction in which I refunded the buyer because the package appeared to have been lost by USPS.
I sold and shipped a laptop to the buyer using USPS. After approximately 10 days without delivery, I refunded the buyer in full and filed a missing-package search with USPS.
USPS has now located the package and informed me that it is scheduled to be delivered to the buyer. It was delivered today resulting in the buyer now having the laptop and the full refund, while I will have neither the laptop nor the payment.
I would appreciate eBay’s assistance in determining the proper way to recover the payment or have the laptop returned to me. I can provide the USPS tracking information showing that the package was located and delivered/due for delivery.
Please advise me on the appropriate next step and whether eBay can assist me in collecting payment.
