Lost item
If an item was delivered to the buyer's post office but not to the exact address, why should eBay determine the seller is liable when the USPS Ground Advantage tracking indicates it was delivered to the correct PO and out for delivery? The recipient's PO states they looked for it for a couple of days but to no avail. I'm a fairly new seller and this has never happened before so I'm just trying to understand the system. I did submit a USPS lost package claim but eBay refunded the buyer and charged my account even before USPS responded to the claim. Can anyone help me out with this? Thanks so much!

Mentor2 years agoThe seller is responsible for the package until delivery. If the tracking does not show delivery, then you are responsible for the refund, unless the no delivery was due to an incorrect address by the buyer.
eBay will not make the buyer wait for the claim, no matter how clear it is that the claim will probably be paid. The amount of insurance on a package is determined by the seller, and may or may not represent full coverage - that is a choice the seller makes when shipping.
