Lost bid item relisted 2 hours after close of bid

Question

So I made 1 bid on an item on 3/22/23. 12 hours later on 3/23/23 I was outbid by someone. Did not up my bid.

At close of auction on 3/24/23 I received notification that item had been sold for price 2nd bidder had made.

Just got a notification today 3/25/23 that item had been relisted, at a higher starting price of course.

So was this a scam or normal? Never had this happen before.

hI @jrhurst548 It "could" be a Shill bidding scam by the Seller and someone they know OR the Seller could have more than one of the item. The Auction format allows Sellers to have more than one identical item on Auction for sale at the same time whereas for Buy it now items Sellers cannot do that since eBay would consider it a Duplicate listing.I recently had two of the same old train car, rare items.
