Loss of Gift Card Balance

Question

To those that have used gift cards to buy products on Ebay, have they ever lost the balance the moment it was loaded, if so, how do we get it back? I loaded three cards today, and the moment I loaded the third card, the entire balance disappeared from my account like magic.

Yes, we've heard of it happening.

Were you trying to add them from the Add Gift Card page?

Check your Payments Wallet also - if not there, contact the Gift Card team, they can look at your account from their end -

Open this Help page on Gift Cards
At the bottom Click on "Contact us"
In the Help Chatbox that opens, to bypass the bots, type AGENT then press the Send arrow
Keep typing "AGENT" to any bot questions.
For the box asking "Yes"/"Something else" click on "Yes"
You should see the options to Chat live with an agent, or have them call you.

I tried it and had to enter AGENT twice, clicked "Yes", then got the live agent options.

Note: The Call Back option doesn't always work if your carrier blocks spam/telemarketing calls.
With the Chat option eBay will automatically email you a transcript.

The funds from the gift cards should be available to you when you go through the Ebay checkout to pay for your next order.
