Looks like there is a BUG with the ebay feedback system
I placed an order for 3 different items with same seller which he split the order into 2 shipments. part 1 arrived over 8 days ago and part 2 arrived yesterday. Since its been over 7 days since part 1 arrived, I should be able to leave negative feedback for that 1 item however; even thought I am presented with the feedback screen and I can select negative and enter the feedback in the box, when I go to submit (save), it does not save and provides no error or message of any kind. Customer service was not sure about what is causing this behavior but concluded it must be due to the 7 day waiting period that is affecting the entire order. I suggested they add some kind of error or a notification letting one know what is going on and not just nothing with no message as it is doing now.

Mentor2 years agoHi @kc0hpc
I’ve read other posts about difficulties leaving feedback today. It’s an occasional glitch that has nothing to do with the type of feedback the buyer is intending to leave. That might be what is happening to you.
BTW, I also recommend you contact a seller about a problem before leaving bad feedback. It will be more helpful to let other buyers know what a seller does after being made aware of a problem. [Feedback is supposed to relate to the entire transaction.]

OP2 years agoThank you. And Yes, I have reached multiple time we have a dialogue, unfortunately the seller is delusional. My only hope at this point is to save someone else from this very bad experience

Mentor2 years agoMeanwhile in those 7 days, did you contact the seller about the problem you had with the order to give him a chance to resolve it for you?

OP2 years agoI can appreciate policy and best practice for providing honest and fair however; that is NOT what this post is about. This is about a possible BUG in the system. Are you fishing for points?

Mentor2 years agoI don't know of any points to fish for, but I'm trying to help you. The purpose of the seven day waiting period to leave a negative feedback is to allow your seller to resolve the problem. Leaving negative feedback neither resolves the problem nor does it make you look good when you leave negative feedback without giving your seller a chance to make it right.
This is not a bug in the system. You need to wait until a full seven days have passed from the final receipt on the order.

OP2 years agoPlease read what I posted: The BUG I am referring to is the fact that in my case; where the order was split in 2, and I go to the feedback page to leave fair an hones feedback, there is no error or message advising why when I click save / submit nothing happens.
I am well aware of the 7 day policy and had a log conversation today with ebay customer service which they agreed I may have stumbled on a legitimate BUG and suggested I reach out to the community. I have been on ebay since 1999 so I know how to resolve issues with sellers/buyers by reaching out and talking. In some cases there are no resolving issues with certain sellers and we are left leveraging the tools ebay has provided. At this point our only resolve is to to try and avoid someone else from making the same mistake as we just did.

Mentor2 years agoI can't see what is happening on the page when you try to leave feedback. If you can't leave it yet, there should be a message that you need to wait seven days if applicable.
I know that some members have come here to ask if there is a bug because they neglected to select a rating (they just left the comment). When they went back to select the rating, they were able to submit the feedback, but that may not apply to you.
If the message that you need to wait is not displayed, then that is something support should have submitted for you rather than directing you here. I apologize for not fully understanding you issue. I was focused on the multiple shipment aspect.

OP2 years agoWhen customer service said it may be a bug. I suggested they have the developers fix and put in a message explaining what is going on. Thank you
