Logging on to ebay
I've been logging on to Ebay from the same computer for years. Now for some reason it asks me to state that I'm human, and I have to identify pictures with bumble bees. Can you make all that go away?

I've had to pick the pictures with bicycles and busses, but not bumble bees ... at least so far. This security measure is a version of CAPTCHA, which stands for “completely automated public Turing test to tell computers and humans apart" – that sounds so unnatural and contrived that I think they started with the acronym and worked backwards to devise a definition to fit.
It seems to come and go during my log ins, with no element of commonality that I can determine. My computer is set to delete all cookies and history every time I close an application, but that isn't necessarily the cause, because I hardly ever have to satisfy the CAPTCHA. It's been months since the latest time, but it could happen again tomorrow.
If your log ins work the same as mine, just hang in there and the requirement will go away after a while. You won't know when the next spate will occur, if ever, just enjoy it while it's gone. 😃

·2 years agoThat can happen after a software update, especially to your browser. When you login look for a box to check or the like to remember this computer or the like.

Mentor2 years ago@jimlynvd2 Sorry I know it's annoying but that can't be removed as it's a site wide security feature. It should only happen after you clear your browser. It does happen more often with some browsers than others so you might try a different browser.
