Local pickup item never received
Summary: zi895143 shared their experience of purchasing a computer through eBay Local Pickup but not receiving it due to a lack of response from the seller, who claimed the item was already sold. They accidentally left positive feedback meant for another transaction and are seeking advice on obtaining a refund. lady_madonna reassured them that the feedback mistake should not affect their refund claim. zi895143 appreciated this guidance.
I bought a computer through eBay Local Pickup on August 14. I contacted the seller several times to arrange pickup but received no response. I never picked up the computer and never provided or scanned the pickup code.
The seller eventually replied: “This was sold already.”
I opened an Item Not Received request, but the seller still hasn’t responded, so I asked eBay to step in.
I accidentally left positive feedback because it was intended for another laptop I bought from a different seller. I already explained this mistake to eBay.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Should eBay issue a full refund in this situation?

Mentor2 weeks agoOnce you file the Item Not Received case, the seller has 3 days to respond with a full refund. If no refund, on day 4, go back to the case and click to Ask ebay to step in, to force the refund.

Mentor2 weeks agoThe fact that you mistakenly left feedback should have no bearing on your Refund Request/Item Not Received. You still have the right to a refund since you never received the item.
