I am retuning an item to seller by taking it to him in person. How do I proof I returned it?

There is no form for returning an item to a seller in person. If this was a local pickup purchase you should have inspected or test it when you picked it up, at which point you would either not pay, or give the seller the QR or 6 digit code they needed to signify a successful transaction. FYI. You do not need to pay in advance for a local pickup item.
If they shipped the item to you, you need to file an item not as described (INAD) dispute using the more actions button in your purchase history. The seller will have to provide a return shipping label w/ tracking you use to send the item back, within 3 days of you filing the dispute. A refund should be issued with 2 days of the tracking number showing Delivered.
One way of doing this would be for the seller to purchase a bubble wrap envelope addressed to them, with a USPS first class package label on it to give to you when you give them back the item. Once it shows delivered a refund can be issued.
