live customer service
I spoke to an eBay customer service person a couple times regarding a purchase I needed to cancel but the seller refused. eBay assured me they would help me return the item and get a full refund, and that I just needed to call them when the order arrived. Okay, so it just arrived and now I can't reach a live person on the phone. I have a reference # given to me by the last customer service person I spoke to but there's no way to enter that in the automated chat. What's going on? Why isn't there anyone to answer the phone there?

·1 year agoYou shouldn't need to speak to anyone on the phone to return an item, if it's eligible for return. Just begin the return process from your purchase history and choose the correct reason for the return.
Just so you know, sellers are never required to cancel an order, though most will if they have not shipped an item yet.

OP1 year agoThank you, jonathanbrightlight. What you say about returns is true, but that is the issue in this situation. It isn't returnable, and although I attempted to cancel the order very early on, before the payment processed, the seller flat out refused. In 2 separate conversations with eBay help I was told that they would work out the return for me as there were extenuating circumstances. So today I've tried calling the number I have for them, and there's no way to speak to a person. I'll just try again later or this weekend.
