Live chat agent
How do I speak with a live chat agent asap! This is ridiculous, it should not be this hard. The automated chat bot thing is completely useless

Unfortunately, phone support is not offered on a consistent basis and below is basically what we share with members.
You have some options:
-Ask your question here if not on the account level, we have no access to accounts here. This forum is supported by volunteer Buyers and Sellers.
We recently learned that many of the links we post to Request a call back are now simply forwarding members to eBay's Customer Service "How can we help you today?" page (link below). On that page members have to complete numerous choices before being given ways to be in direct contact with eBay. Depending on the subject, representative availability and other factors requesting a call back may or may not be possible. Chat or an email may be provided. If you get a Chat box Type “AGENT in the box. You can also contact eBay through Social Media if you have accounts there.
eBay Customer Service
-Contacting eBay via Social Media:
Contact customer service by sending a PRIVATE message on social media. Customer service verifies your identity before responding.

OP8 months agoI've messaged both @ebay and @askebay on X and have not gotten a reply. I have an issue with a seller who cancelled an order and completely lied about the reason for the cancellation and will not respond to messages sent.

You can report a Seller here: Report an issue with a seller | eBay
The reason the Seller used the wrong reason for cancellation is so they can avoid a strike on their account.
On a regular Buy it now item Sellers are provided with three choices when cancelling a transaction:
-Out of stock (they get the strike using this reason)
-Buyer requested to cancel (no strike)
-Problem with address (no strike)

I understand completely that a Seller lying about you is a personal afront but to be honest with my experience with eBay they are not going to punish the Seller. Using the report issue with a Seller link I provided up thread is something eBay DOES take seriously and if enough Buyers use that for the Seller in question eBay may have a human look at the account and something might happen.
Have you taken the time to look at the Seller's Feedback and do they have other members who have left less than Positive Feedback stating the Seller cancelled on them??? Sometimes before purchasing it is good to review a Seller's Feedback history.

Make sure you are using the seller username, not the store name. The username should appear on the seller's classic feedback page.
