Listing wrongly Denied -- unable to correct
I listed a USAF survival manual (AFM 64-5), which is identical to one already listed by another seller and one of several of the same genre but different dates. My listing was denied for some obscure reason that has no bearing.

My day job is selling on eBay for my employer, a military history museum. We have cases of similar manuals donated to us year round. Every now and then I try to list one, and immediately get a red banner saying it's not allowed because it's government information. And I too, see dozens of them listed. I don't try to relist or get around it so I don't jeopardize my employer's account.

Mentor3 weeks agoIf you are prevented from listing an item or if an item is removed, do not try to relist it; doing so could jeopardize your account. If that item was caught once, it will likely be caught again, with further penalties.
Just because someone else has listed an item does not necessarily mean that eBay allows that item to be sold; the other listing may just not have been reported or caught yet. In some situations sellers need specific authorization to list certain items. Other items cannot be sold at all. Other items may be allowed but listing those items might trigger automatic sanctions based on keywords used. Repeatedly listing such items can lead to account suspensions.
Here is what eBay says about removed listings:
"Why was my listing removed/hidden when similar listings are still active?
If your listing is removed or hidden by eBay, you may see similar listings still active on the site. This could be for several reasons:
There may be differences between the two listings that are not obvious
The other seller may be a rights owner or an authorized retailer of the item
A participant in the VeRO program may have asked us to remove your listing but hasn't requested the other listing's removal. These types of removals are only done at the request of the VeRO participant; they are not eBay's decision. Read more about the VeRO Program
Your listing was reported to us, but the other listing was not
If you think another listing isn't following our policies, please let us know and we'll investigate."
