Is there a category for me to list multiple similar state maps without having to do 50 separate listings.?
I have tried to find one without success.

I found the three dots you were writing about in a previous note and I found the variations button and it was already activated. So here I am again.
This is exactly what I am trying to do. I purchased a small atlas and dissected it. I now have the single maps for all 50 states (some were territories) and some are combined with other states. This is what I wish to list as a group so buyers can pick which ones they want and have them removed from the listing as they are purchased. That is my understanding of what variations are for. I have my own templates I use for one thing or another but mostly one general template i for most. That being said I have tried several map categories and none of them allow me to use variations. It continues to have "Variations are unavailable for this listing. Eligibility is limited to qualifying item categories, etc." above the condition box. I know I'm doing something 'dumb' and most likely an easy fix but for the life of me, as I said before I'm stumped.

Mentor2 years ago@ketchome I just checked on my test draft again and it is now saying that variations are not available for that category. 😞
I swear it said there were available for this category the other day.
I checked another category Travel>Maps>Other Travel Maps and it doesn't have variations either.
Your only option is going to be create separate listings for the states. You can use a Template and just change the state name in the title and the phot.

I'm redeemed. I wasn't doing anything wrong, phew. It just stinks that there isn't an option.

OP2 years agoPS: if you come across a category that works at a later time feel free to contact me. Ialso have maps of the rest of the world that I eventually wish to list.

in Collectibles > Transportation > Maps & Atlases > Maps
You can not revise an existing listing to add variations.
Here's how to create a variation listing>
To create a variation listing you will need to use the new listing tool that is located in Seller Hub. It can only be accessed from a computer, not the app.
To access Seller Hub:
1. Go to https://www.ebay.com/sh/landing
2. Click Start Using Seller Hub
3. Then, go here to your active listings page:
https://www.ebay.com/sh/lst/active and click the blue Create listing button near the top, right-hand side of the page.
Variations can only be created when using the Buy It Now format.
If you do not see the variations option, click on the 3 dots on the upper right-hand side of the listing form, then select Settings (gear icon) and click on the variations toggle so it turns blue.

Please note: The Variation Attribute name cannot be the same as eBay's default item specifics.
You may also want to set up a calculated or flat shipping rule in your account settings so that your buyers pay the correct shipping for additional items when they purchase more than one from your listing.

On the listing form, select use my shipping rule after you set up the shipping for a single item purchase.

OP2 years agoI tried that category and I still get the not allowed message. I have listed variations before and have been using what I thought is seller hub. You mentioned a blue button in the upper right hand corner as well as another user but I have been unable to see that button on my page. I have been stumped before but now i am baffled.

Does your listing tool have the option to add videos in the photo section? If not then you are not using the correct listing tool.

Mentor2 years ago@ketchome Two ways to get to the listing tool from that page.
1.... Click HOVER over where it says Listings and then select creating listings. This is what I usually do.
2.... IF you click o the LISTINGS tab then you see the blue button on the upper right that says create listing.
The listings tab takes you to your Active listings page with the option to create a listing on the upper right.
Got to step away but I'll check back.
Don't feel bad about asking for more help. I don't want to leave you floundering. It's nice to help someone that appreciates our time.

OP2 years agoI've been selling for 25 plus years and never seriously considered list variations more than once before and that was a while ago and as i recall it wasn't very troublesome. I am feeling lost and dumb here. If you bother to respond to my last entry it will be that last and I will struggle and findout on my own.
