Listing offered shipping, but buyer was in close proximity, so I delivered item.
I sold a piece of equipment and the funds are on hold. The listing was for shipping, however, the buyer was within a reasonable driving distance. The hold pertains to eBay not seeing delivered, but it was. What do I do to release funds? The status just shows as shipped, as I marked it as such, but without a carrier delivery, there’s no way for eBay to verify. So does the buyer need to mark something on his end to confirm receipt or do the funds release after so many days.

Mentor5 days agoSince the item was supposed to be shipped eBay will expect to see tracking that shows the item delivered. Since you do not have this you will need to wait 30 days before eBay will release the funds. In cases like this you would need to cancel the purchase and relist with the local pick up option. Then the buyer will receive both a QR code and a numeric code to provide to you to prove delivery when one of these is entered into the eBay app.

For the future, follow what you say in your listing. Did you refund the buyer for whatever shipping charge they paid? Just curious.
