Listing multiple items with a discount.
I want to use the multiple discount listing. I understand how the cost for the discount is calculated but..... how is the shipping calculated if someone wants addition items as listed with the discount but the new weight and possible a large package are not correct? I conversed with an agent via the computer and I got some insight but not a good answer to solve that problem. Does ebay really know that their site for listing is not the easiest to use?

Here is a link to your Account Settings > Shipping preferences. You can set up your Combined shipping or rules there. Shipping Preferences
For myself I ADD ALL shipping charges on multi-item sales then Refund the shipping overage once everything is packed.
If you do not require Immediate payment Buyers can purchase several items and request an updated invoice. If that happens you can adjust the shipping cost to the correct amount and send the invoice for payment.
Some items however cannot be combined like items sold requiring Authenticity or sales through eBay's International Shipping program.

Sadly, eBay has historically been good on a one item sale. After that the venue falls short in numerous ways.

OP1 year agoI was thinking in that direction for when I had peple requests to purchase multiple items but from different listing.

You are more than welcome. Eventually someone will ask you to create a new listing of the 3 or 4 items they want ... I have had that asked more than once but I decline and let them know how I combine shipping and refund the overage. Some Buyers actually mention that in their Feedback to me which is good. Often that kind of request (to create a custom or bundled listing) is just busy work in my opinion because there is no guarantee they will follow through with the purchase. I have had more than one Buyer say they want to buy a bunch of items but then never follow through.

Mentor1 year agoI opted out of the auto pay, and my calculated shipping is to ADD THE WEIGHTS. This works fine if the buyer uses the Add to Cart option, and then when finished shopping, pays. If the buyer pays each item separately, I can combine all into one package and then send a partial refund after printing the shipping label.
