Listing information is deliberately misleading
I’m tired of listing information that false and misleading. Most of my searches are looking for the lowest listing item price. I am soooooo tired of listings that show a price and when you open the listing the actual item price that I am interested in is several times higher than the listing price. For example, I was looking at e-bikes. I collated and sorted the listings with lowest prices first. I open a listing and the listing price isn’t for an e-bike but is for a replacement battery. When you pick the e-bike option the cost is 4 times the price stated in the listing heading. I don’t know what it is currently called, but at one time it was called a “come on price “ and was just designed to sucker you into looking at a listing. COME ON EBAY!! Start allowing EBAY users to flagging deliberately dishonest listings. EBAY you need to clean up your act.

If you set a price range to limit the results, then sort by "Price plus shipping: highest first", if you jump to the end of the search results and scroll up instead of down, you will find that eBay will sort by the highest priced variation in your price range, ignoring all the low-priced options that are unrelated to your search.

OP9 months agoYour answer has nothing to do with my question. Please read and think about my question again. Sellers list a price in the listing heading but when you look at the listing options, that low price is for something that has nothing to do with the listing and when you look at the price of what I am interested in and the what the listing heading is for, that price is much much higher than what is listed in the heading. Called “bait and switch†the bait is low listing heading price but when you look at the actual price of the item that you are interested in it is much higher than that noted in the listing. It’s a “click bait†tactic that I am tired of. EBAY needs IMO to give users a way to police listings again or allow EBAY users to give users a chance to place feedback even when you are not an item purchaser. EBAY is not self policing sellers any more so I think EBAY should let users help police unscrupulous sellers.

Mentor9 months agoI understood your question. Did you understand my answer? I am telling you how to deal with the current situation so that those misleading price variation listings can be avoided when you search and so you can find the lowest-priced e-bike instead of the lowest priced battery.
You are talking about what eBay could do at some point in the future to help you.
I am talking about what you can do to see better results right now to help yourself.
