listing cancelled due to "contact info" listed
I just got a notification that my most recent listing was cancelled because eBay found that I had entered contact info in the listing. I never do that, and never would. So I appealed, and asked for help in locating the offending text. Appeal was almost immediately declined, and I can't find a way to chat with a human being about it. Going through the automated chat keeps telling me either useless information, or tells me that something went wrong.
Anybody have an email address for reaching a person, or is this just a dead listing now? I've been on eBay since the 90's, and have never had anything nearly so frustrating happen before.

Mentor1 year agoIf you used @ in the description, or have a series of 7 or 10 digits that might appear to be a phone number, ebay's AI might think you are including contact information. If that does not apply, did you happen to copy/paste from some text on the internet? If so, there might be some HTML included in the next and that is why AI thinks you are including contact information.

OP1 year agoHey, thanks for that quick reply... I suspected about as much. The odd thing is that I literally always put a URL for the original manual and more information about the item I'm selling if it's available. So that's what I figured got flagged. And that's why I appealed and asked for the specific reasons. It's very disappointing that the appeal was done by an entity that wasn't capable of understanding the listing.
Any thinking person could check that the links are publicly available information in wiki or library type sites. I guess I'll just screenshot the info and include it that way.
